A Tennessee native, Laura Stanley received a Bachelors Degree in Art History from the University of Georgia.  Soon after moving to New York City, Laura landed a position with eponymous textile designer, John Robshaw, managing his line of hand block printed fabrics.  Laura worked as Style Editor at Country Living Magazine and in the Decorating and Collecting Departments at Martha Stewart Living Magazine.  Laura credits her formal training in interior design to AD100 firm Carrier & Company and Ashley Whittaker Design as well as Fern Santini in Austin, TX where she worked prior to establishing Story Street Studio in 2019 with partner Lizzie Bailey.

Lizzie began her career with a formative stint as a Market Editor at House & Garden Magazine.  She went on to manage Gerald Bland’s influential art and antiques gallery in Manhattan.  Lizzie then honed her craft in interiors working for over six years as senior designer for renowned Elle Décor A-list designer, Katie Ridder.  Lizzie grew up outside of New York City and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Princeton University, and an Associates Degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design.

Laura and Lizzie now bring their combined years of experience, their editors’ eyes, and their shared love of the design process to Story Street Studio.  Working from offices in Bozeman, MT and New York City they take projects across the country.
